Abdullah B Abd AL Muttalib عبدالله بن عبد المطلب

Abdullah B Abd AL Muttalib عبدالله بن عبد المطلب

The father of Prophet Muhammad. He was the youngest son of `Abd AL-Muttalib, whom, according to a weak report, his father saved by sacrificing - because of a vow - a hundred camels. He married a woman called Aminah of the Banu Najjar in Yathrib.

He carried some sort of brightness on his face so that when he passed by a woman, she invited him to her company. But when he met her again after marriage to Aminah, he passed by her, but she said she did not need his company because the brightness from his face was gone. During the pregnancy of his wife Aminah, when his own age was about 25, he set out on a mercantile expedition to Ghazzah. On his way back, he fell sick at Yathrib. His caravan moved on to Makkah. `Abd AL-Muttalibsent his son Harith to fetch him back. But when they arrived at YYathrib they learnt that he had died about six months before the birth of the Prophet. It is against Islamic aadaab to speak about where he will be in the Hereafter.
