Pride and Its Evils
Pride is a deadly sin and there is no space for pride in the heart of the Momin. A person who has pride in his heart thinks that he/she is best from all others and he/she is superior. Pride is a disease which deletes all the goodness of the heart. The person who has pride in his heart will not enter in paradise. Arrogance, envy, stinginess, envy, greed, pride, anger, hate, lust, and spite are extremely dangerous inner diseases from the heart.
Although residing in the hearts, their harmful effects are generally reflected inside behavior as well as conduct from the sick individual that will wear due program prevented via entering paradise on the Day of Judgment. It is said by Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) that:-
"One will not enter Paradise if one has an atom’s weight of arrogance in his/her heart."
At other place it is said that:-
"The heart must be clean and honest. Allah is pure and He only accepts pureness."
Evils of pride
• The heart becomes blind and the man does not understand the verse of Quran E Hakeem. It is said in Quran E Hakeem that:-
“I shall turn away from My signs those who wax proud in the land without cause. If they witnessed all the signs, they will not believe in them, and, if they see the path of righteousness, they will not accept it as a path. But if they see the deviated path, they will accept it as a path. That, because they gave a lie to our signs and were heedless of them.”
At another place it is said that:-
“Those who dispute with Allah’s signs without an authority having come to them, greatly hateful is (that) to Allah and to those who have believed. That is how Allah sets the seal upon the heart of every arrogant, tyrannical person.”
• Hazrat Moosa (A.S) asked from Allah Almighty that:-
“Oh my Lord! Who is the most deserving of your wrath and displeasure?”
Allah almighty gave the answer to Moosa that:-
“It is he whose heart is filled with pride and his tongue is filthy (i.e. Abusive), his eyes are devoid of shame, his hands are miserly and he is of bad conduct and character.”
• The person who is proud in this world will be disgrace and dishonored in the hereafter.
• The person will not enter in paradise that has pride in his heart.
In Quran E Hakeem it is said that:-
“And walk not in the earth exultingly you will neither tear apart the earth, nor attain the mountains in height.”
May all guide us toward the right path and make us a true Momin (Ameen)!
