What are the major characteristics of an Islamic society?
Every society has the complete structure. Same like this Islamic society has a unique and complete structure. This structure stands on certain main features or characteristics. Without these characteristics the structure of the society cannot stand properly. In Quran E Hakeem and Ahadith these characteristics are discussed in detail. In one verse of Quran E Hakeem the three main characteristics are being told by Allah Almighty.
three main characteristics of Islamic Society are being told by Allah!
“You are the best of communities that has been raised up for mankind: You enjoin the good, forbid the evil, and believe in Allah. Had the people of the Book believed, surely, it would have been better for them. Of them some are believers, while the great majority is perverted transgressors.”
So in this verse three main things are being told by Allah Almighty!
1. To Enjoy the Good
Goodness is main characteristic of an Islamic society. In Islamic society people enjoy the goodness. In a society where all the people do good that society becomes earthly paradise.
2. To Forbid the Evil
In an Islamic society evil is forbidden and no one likes do indulged in an evil act.
3. To Have Faith on Allah
To have strong believe on Allah Almighty is that main characteristic of an Islamic society. Without this characteristic a society cannot be called an Islamic society.
About brotherhood it is said in Quran E Hakeem that:-
“Verily, this brotherhood of yours is a single brotherhood, and I am your lord and cherisher: Therefore serve me.”
5. To Follow Quran And Sunnah
A society is not an Islamic society if the people of that society do not follow Quran and Sunnah. So to follow Quran and Sunnah is the main and basic characteristic of an Islamic society.
In an Islamic society there is no space for materialism. A member of the actual Islamic society is just not an ‘economic man’ although one with the goal of earning the actual pleasure involving Allah through right actions and service to their fellow humans. Good motives and correct action thrive if they receive a good response by others. In the end, competition in good deeds leads to benefits to all or any concerned.
Generosity as well as benevolence must prevail from the society. People need to prefer others’ has to their very own needs. Alternatively, lust for the money, and miserliness can be condemned to all cases. Luxurious living should be avoided. The top policy can be that from the middle way.
These are some characteristics which in a Muslim society must be practiced. May Allah help us to live an ideal life as a Momin in this world (Amen).
