What does Islam say about charity?
Charity in Islam has so much importance. In Quran E Hakeem Allah Almighty has clearly told us about the virtues and importance of charity. Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) has also told us about its value. It is reported by Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) that Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) said that:-
“He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment; he who makes easy what is difficult, Allah will make it easy for him in the world and the Hereafter; he who conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in the world and the Hereafter; Allah helps the servant so long as he helps his brother.”
This Hadith shows that because of the charity Allah will make the difficulties easy for us in this world and in the world hereafter.
At another place it is narrated by Hazrat Ibn E Umer that once two men asked from Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) about the most dearest acts in the eye of Allah and the reply of beloved prophet (PBUH) was :-
“The people most beloved to Allah are those who are most beneficial to the people; and the most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy, or remove one of his troubles, or to forgive his debt, or to satiate his hunger, or to walk with his brother regarding a need;...............; and whoever walks with his brother regarding a need until he secures it for him, then Allah the Exalted will make his footing firm across the bridge on the day when the footings are shaken.”
What does Allah Say about Charity?
Quran E Hakeem is the word of Allah Almighty. In this Holy book Allah Almighty has told us about the charity. In Surat Ar-Ra'd it is said that:-
And, those who patiently persevere seeking their Lord’s countenance, attend to the Prayers, expend out of what We have provided them, secretly and openly, and ward off evil with good they, for them is the Ultimate Abode.
At another place In Sura E Baqrah it is said that:-
“Perform the Prayers, pay the alms and bow down along with those who bow.”
At another place it is said that there is a reward for that that spend in the way of Allah Almighty. It is said in Quran E Hakeem that:-
“Those who expend their wealth in the cause of Allah and then follow not what they have expended with taunts and injury: for such is their reward with their Lord. They shall have nothing to fear nor shall they grieve.”
Reward of charity on the Day of Judgment
It is said by Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) that:-
“Every man will be in the shade of his charity on the Day of Resurrection.”
So spent in the way of Allah and relieves the hardships of the people. May Allah give us power to follow the right path. (Ameen)
